What It Costs

There is no price list on this page, and that is deliberate rather than evasive. The operator sets their own prices and quotes each job on the call. Publishing a figure they have not agreed to would be inventing one.

What is useful is knowing which parts of your situation actually move the number, so the call is short and the quote is not a surprise.

Describe the job and the operator quotes it back.

This goes to the operator who covers Mahoning County. They call the number you leave to work out a price and a time. Sending it does not book a visit on its own.

The four things that decide it

1. What the animal is

Size and weight, mostly. A squirrel and a deer are the same errand and not the same work: one is a bag, the other is a two-person lift and a disposal route your trash service will not take.

2. Where exactly it is

Out in the open on a lawn is the cheap end. Under a deck, behind a retaining wall, or up in an attic means working in a confined space before anything gets carried out.

3. How close a vehicle gets

The single most underrated one. Twenty feet from a driveway and a hundred yards down a wooded slope are very different jobs with an identical animal at the end of them.

4. How long it has been there

Time changes the job. What the animal is lying on may need to come out with it, and a carcass that has been there a week is not handled the way one found the same morning is.

Things that are not a price

A search is not the same as a removal. If nobody has found the animal yet, part of the visit is looking for it, and that is priced differently from arriving at something already located. If the trail ends at a sealed wall, the honest answer is that there is no job here to sell you. The odor page covers it.

And if the animal is on a city street or at the curb, you should not be paying at all. Youngstown Public Works handles that. The split is here.

How to get a number quickly

Call and say four things: what you think it is, where on the property it is, how close a truck can get, and roughly how long it has been there. That is enough to price most jobs without anyone driving out to look first.
