A deer is the job people most often cannot handle themselves. It is heavy, it is awkward, and it may have been lying there a while before anyone noticed it.
Why deer are priced differently
A raccoon, an opossum or a squirrel fits in a bag one person can carry. A deer does not. An adult animal is a genuine two-person lift, it will not fit in a container you own, and the disposal route is not your household trash.
The animal matters, and so does the ground between it and a vehicle. A deer twenty feet off a driveway in Austintown and a deer at the bottom of a wooded slope behind a house in Poland are the same carcass and not the same job.

- Roughly where on the lot it is, and how far from somewhere a truck can stop
- Whether there is a gate, a fence line or a slope in the way
- How long it has been there, as near as you can tell
- Whether it is intact, and whether anything has been at it
- Whether you are the owner or reporting it for somebody else
Where they come from here
The Mill Creek corridor and the wooded ravines through Boardman, Canfield and Poland put deer habitat straight against residential back lots. An animal struck near a road frequently travels before it drops, which is why it so often ends up on private ground rather than where it was hit.

A wounded animal sometimes dies on someone else’s land. The removal is the same job; questions about tagging and reporting belong with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, not with a removal operator.
